Shipping AMS What is the cost (International shipping costs)

1.  AMS stands for Anti-Terrorism Security Charge, which is a fee charged by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

2.  Similar fees include ACI (Advanced Commercial Information) and ISF (Importer Security Filing) in North America, and ENS (Export Control System) in Europe.

3.Currently, all cargo bound for North America must submit AMS, ACI or ISF cargo declaration information to U.S. Customs at least 24 hours before the ship arrives at the port of destination.

4.Cargo destined for Europe is also required to submit ENS cargo declaration information to European Customs at least 24 hours before the ship arrives at the port of destination.

Ocean AMS Fees:

In general, the current AMS fee is basically the same as ENS, basically USD25/ ticket, there are some companies charge USD35/ ticket, but different companies charge different standards, the basic difference is not very big.  If you do FOB quotes with customers, you need to pay ENS fees, and ENS fees fall under the FOB category.  Since this operation is carried out before the ship leaves the Chinese port, the FOB customer must pay the ENS fee.

It should be noted that if the shipment is destined for Latin America, but needs to transit in the United States, then you must also declare AMS, because the United States plays an important role in Latin American shipping, and most of the cargo to South America will transit in the United States.
